Boston Athletic Association adds three All-American All Stars

BOSTON – Three American runners Annie Rodenfels, Eric Hamer and Abbey Wheeler have joined the Boston Athletic Association’s high performance team.

The BAA High Performance Team supports American runners on their journey to forming international teams, with the goal of competing at the highest level: the Olympic Games, the World Athletics Championships and the Abbott World Marathon Majors .

The athletes will join the team coached by Mark Carroll and train in Boston.

“We are thrilled to welcome new talented athletes to our team with the additions of Annie, Eric and Abbey,” said Coach Carroll. “All three athletes have a bright career ahead of them, and we look forward to them competing at the highest level with the BAA Unicorn. Their college and post-college success is a great indication of what to expect.”

Rodenfels joined the BAA after a decorated career at Center College in Kentucky, where she was a three-time NCAA Division III National Champion and seven-time All-American.

Hamer, a Colorado State University graduate, finished second at the NCAA 5,000-yard track and field championships in 2021.

Wheeler comes to BAA from Providence College, where she was a four-time All-American for the Friars.
