First Charlton Athletic squad news ahead of AFC Wimbledon clash
Charlton Athletic host AFC Wimbledon this afternoon chasing three straight wins under Johnnie Jackson.
Conor Washington’s close-range finish and an own goal from Clark Robertson proved enough to overtake Portsmouth 2-1 on Monday night to steer the Addicks away from the relegation zone.
Mark Robinson’s men are winless in their last nine third-tier outings and so sit just two points above the bottom.
There will be a derby feel to the proceedings with the Dons boasting a decent record against the Addicks, since they first played a league game against each other in 2016.
Last season Charlton won 5-2 at The Valley and the points were split with a 2-2 draw at Plow Lane.
Wimbledon cruised to a 1-0 victory in their League Cup first round trip as the Addicks’ terrible form at the start of the season persisted under Nigel Adkins.
Here we’ve taken a look at the latest team news ahead of what is expected to be a heated encounter…
Charlton have two confirmed absentees, Jake Forster-Caskey has been out since the final blows of last season after suffering a second anterior cruciate ligament injury.
Jayden Stockley remains sidelined with a hip problem but is believed to be on the verge of a first-team return.
Ryan Inniss is fit for selection after facing Portsmouth as a precaution with hamstring pain.
Sam Lavelle is back in full training after a groin injury he suffered in late October, the 25-year-old could feature in the matchday squad for the first time since Jackson’s opener in charging at Sunderland.
As for Wimbledon, Sam Cosgrove and Nathan Broome will be in the squad and in particular the former is hoping to earn his first minutes for the club.
Paul Kalambayi is in contention to feature after missing the last 14 league games.
