Gillette Community College District Joins National Athletic Association
GILLETTE, Wyo.– Gillette Community College District joins the National Junior College Athletic Association.
GCCD will compete in Region 9, according to a June 27 press release. Beginning in fall 2023, the University District will participate in men’s and women’s Division I soccer, women’s volleyball, and men’s and women’s basketball. It will also continue to offer rodeo with the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association.
The association approved the college district’s bid on June 23, and the GCCD board approved the fiscal year 2023 budget.

Energy City Voices and Athletics will return to Gillette College in the fall of 2023. GCCD is conducting a national search for an athletic director. He plans to hire coaching staff and a director from Energy City Voices in early 2023. The Gillette Booster Club will continue to support Gillette College athletic programs. The ENCORE club will meet again this fall.
“The GCCD is fortunate to have strong community support for students who choose Gillette College to further their education while continuing to grow in the pursuits in which they excel,” said Janell Oberlander, Acting President of the Gillette Community College.
She said GCCD looks forward to developing a strong relationship with the NJCAA Board of Directors as the district grows.
