“College athletics is changing rapidly and we are working hard to grow with it,” the athletic director said. Chris Massaro. “The modernization of the Blue Raider Athletic Association and its new mission statement will help us elevate our fundraising efforts in this new landscape.”
Full donor support of MTSU Athletics through the modernized BRAA structure will be rewarded with expanded membership opportunities, priority points and benefits.
Since the organization’s inception in 1987, donors have helped provide critical resources to the athletics department to impact the success of student-athletes in the classroom and in competition. The expanded reach of the organization will reward loyal dedication to the department while providing multiple opportunities for donors to increase their support.
“Since our arrival in February, the new BRAA staff and I have met with several current donors, alumni and BRAA board members to gather their feedback,” the Associate Director of Athletics said. For the development. Hans Malebranche. “Based on these conversations, we felt the need to expand the reach of our organization and showcase the different ways individuals can support MTSU Athletics and impact our student-athletes through BRAA. “
Instead of focusing primarily on annual member contributions, donors now have eight different ways to support MTSU Athletics through annual giving and legacy giving, including the new Annual Champions Fund (formerly Annual Membership of the BRAA).
All individuals who donate to any area of the Blue Raider Athletic Association at the level of $100 or more are considered BRAA members; previously, only donations to the Annual Champions Fund counted towards BRAA membership. Members will also receive priority points for any donations to the Blue Raider Athletic Association. All former student-athletes, managers and coaches are also eligible for the same benefits for membership in the Varsity Club, now a form of annual donation within the BRAA.
All five annual giving areas within the modernized BRAA structure are eligible to receive annual giving benefits, revamped for the 2022-23 benefit year.
