Oldham Athletic squad news ahead of Carlisle United clash
JOHN Sheridan has the same team from Tuesday’s draw at Crawley to choose from when Latics take on Carlisle United tomorrow, with Dylan Bahamboula also available after suspension.
January signing Mike Fondop faces a spell on the sidelines after groin surgery.
And Sheridan was frustrated that the striker broke the news via social media.
“He came out with things he really shouldn’t have come out with. Obviously he’s hurt but he doesn’t give me the chance to explain myself, he explained it himself. I’m a bit disappointed with how it turned out but it is what it is,” the Latics head coach said.
“Unfortunately, he is injured.”
When asked how long he expects to be without Fondop, Sheridan added: “That’s an answer I’d love to give you but I don’t know.
“I should talk to the physio and get more feedback.”
The Latics have covered the miles with back-to-back trips to Colchester and Crawley in the space of four days, but Sheridan is happy with how his players coped with the long travel times.
“We had two long trips, we came back late but luckily we got two good results and we are looking forward to Saturday’s game,” he said.
“Everyone is fit and available. You just have to be careful if you have long journeys and you’re sitting on the bus and coming home late, it’s long hours, we’re just taking care of them. We we relaxed and we’ll work on the form of the team (today) and show the videos and prepare for Carlisle.
“We have to try to take care of them. It’s a long journey but you just have to keep them fit and keep training as short as possible because you just want them to be on the pitch on game day. .
“We are doing our best with them and I hope they will all be fine.”
