Senior White Huskies Named to BCAM Academic Athletic Team | News, Sports, Jobs

HOUGHTON — Michigan Tech senior Owen White was named to the 2021-22 College Men’s Academic and Athletic Team this week by the Basketball Coaches Association of Michigan.

White averaged 17.6 points and six rebounds per game for the Huskies and was named GLIAC Player of the Year for the second straight season.

He was also a first-team NABC All-Region for the second time and led the Huskies to a regular-season conference championship. He was a SAAC member, team captain, and campus sports Bible study leader with a 3.82 grade point average in mechanical engineering.

Justin Fischer (Lake Superior State), Dorian Aluyi (Ferris State), Cole Kleiver (Alma College) and Evan Thomas (Hope College) were also named to the team.

ACSM member coaches submit nominations for the awards during the nomination period. BCAM was established in the summer of 1876 and exists for the betterment of basketball in the State of Michigan, representing basketball coaches from middle school through college.
