VB: Hofstra welcomes Towson to open Colonial Athletic Association game
Hempstead, NY – The Hofstra volleyball team will start the Colonial Athletic Association game this weekend when Towson goes for a pair of games.
The Pride and the Tigers will meet on Saturday and Sunday, with both games starting at 1 p.m.

Hofstra is heading towards the start of CAA action with a 6-5 overall record after splitting all four of their games last week. Graduate student Ana Martinovic leads the team with 107 kills, while the first year Beatriz Alves leads with 368 assists, freshman Chiara Cucco is the team’s first with 207 recoveries, and junior Sarah Pierre has a better team 42 blocks. Martinovic also has 16 serving aces to lead the team.
Towson is 12-0 this season after winning all four of his games at the Tiger Invitational this weekend. Fay Bakodimou has 99 kills and 18 serving aces to lead the Tigers in both categories. Rachel Hess leads the team with 163 digs, while Megan Wilson has 261 assists and Lydia Wiers has 43 blocks for the team’s top spot in those respective categories.
Hofstra is 45-19 against Towson. The teams have not met in the shortened 2021 spring season.
