Wakefield Athletic squad set to play charity post-season game

The charity event aims to raise funds for families and children in Ukraine. All funds raised will be donated to UNICEF to help the good cause.

There has been a date change previously posted for the Mikey Bell Memorial and the charity football match between Wakefield Athletic and Mikey Bell’s Select.

The match has been moved from Sunday July 2 to Saturday August 6 due to a double booking of the venue at the West Yorkshire Sports & Social Club.

Wakefield Athletic are set to play a post-season charity game.

All proceeds are to be donated to the Amylose charity to fund research into this rare disease.

Wakefield Athletic Football Club, which will field three teams in the Wakefield Sunday League and enter their 40th season next season, will begin pre-season training under the supervision of Davy Jones and Aleks Celebacanin next Wednesday (June 15), from 6.30pm to 8:00 p.m. and Sunday, June 19 (10 a.m.-12 p.m.).

The bi-weekly training sessions will take place at their home at the West Yorkshire Sports & Social Club.
